QRiH was designed as a supportive tool for writing research evaluations in the humanities according the Strategic Evaluation Protocol (SEP) 2021-2027. (PDF). QRiH can also be used for other purposes, too, such as the internal quality assurance cycle of faculties, research schools and research units, and in discussions about the national Recognition and Rewards (‘Erkennen en Waarderen’) programme and its implementation.

What does QRiH have to offer?

-         A guide to preparing self-evaluations, including important practical recommendations.

-         Guidelines for determining the aggregation level of evaluations, international committees and Terms of Reference.

-         An overview of the indicators that can be used in evaluations.

-         Information about issues such as quality and relevance in the humanities, Open Science, robust data and benchmarking.

-         Profiles of the publishing cultures that prevail in the different domains of humanities research.

-         Examples of case studies.

QRiH starts from the assumption that research in the humanities has its own distinctive character. The SEP 2021-2027 provides plenty of scope to highlight these unique aspects of quality and relevance, with QRiH functioning as a toolbox in the process.
