Description
There are many different criteria available to determine use by peers, including data on distribution, purchases, utilisation by other researchers, or screenings.
QRiH is still under development. Other forms of use, including new forms, can be defined later as indicators. Suggestions are welcome.
Explanation
Most criteria for use are non-standardised, although some do generate quantitative data. Data should always be considered in context.
Usefulness
Whether other usage criteria are useful depends on the nature of the research products:
- Distribution in the case of films, documentaries, serious games, but also books, by academic libraries and research institutions;
- Screenings of audio-visual products, for researchers;
- Demonstrable use by other researchers, for example of digital tools and software.
